I am a photographer and digital marketer from the North of England, travelling frequently between the North and London. I am fortunate enough to be fluent in Japanese and moderate in Chinese Mandarin, and travel frequently to East Asia.

My photography tends towards black and white and also towards underexposure rather than contrast. I most enjoy people photography - especially when I get a chance to capture a moment - but also dabble in the occassional landscape and city shot - especially if I can seize the darker side of a place. Someone once said that "photography tends to mediterraneanize" - I'm not sure who to attribute that to, but despite my occasional lapse into mediterranean colours I prefer to fight that urge.

My ultimate goal would be to capture other cultures (even ones as local as the North of England) and paint them in a light that celebrates their differences. So much of our media is biased towards one cultural view of the world and I would hope that in the long term my photographs might help people celebrate diversity. The West, capitalism and democracy do not have all of the answers, and variety is the only way for our societies to evolve.
